The concern over the prevalence of conflicts in the society has, over the years, occupied the attention of several scholars, researchers, and thinkers giving rise ultimately to the emergence of Peace and Conflict Studies. Peace and Conflict studies is a social science field that identifies and analyses violent and nonviolent behaviors as well as the structural mechanisms attending conflicts (including social conflicts) with a view towards understanding those processes which lead to a more desirable human condition.

This course has been designed  to help students understand the basic issues of peace and conflict and how to approach and manage conflict situations in the society. This course will explore the following subtopics
